Diaa Al-Wakil / Advisor and former spokesman of the Armed Forces (Friday May 1, 2015) … Sedition is no longer a matchstick thrown over a pile of dry wood, but a complicated science that perfected the industry of destruction, division and death, and can turn illusions in the eyes of the people to a supposed fact for which the tempted would die for. And the United States is a master in creating and managing disasters and has a lot of experience and history in that field from Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea and Cuba to the war on terrorism, which they get very creative in managing it according to Henry Kissinger’s theory.
And that is what’s happening right now in Iraq; Washington, which participates in managing the cause of war against ISIS via Air forces, Consultations, and Logistic Support, has new terms which are they don’t agree very much on the participation of the PMF in the missions of Liberating Al-Anbar and commences in arming the clans of the province with American funding outside of the central government’s control that is demanded by the new law presented by the congressman Mac Thornberry, which “according to his description” pleads to give an active role to minorities in ruling the country, and that responds to the Biden’s project which suggested in an article published in the “Washington Post” newspaper on August 2014, creating an effective federal system as a mean to overcome the divisions in Iraq and of course that system requires dividing to three federals “Shiite, Sunni, and Kurdish”.
And so we are faced off with a crisis of several aspects, summarized in the following:
The case of war against terrorism in Iraq faces a dangerous challenge and a difficult dilemma.
US air and intelligence support is bound by political conditions.
Arming and funding Sunnis and Kurds outside of the central government’s control, weakens it and empowers the existing internal divide.
Arming different political, tribal, and sectarian parties foretells the risks of future conflicts.
The American law along with its terms shows the level of conflict that the US relations with Baghdad have reached over the war against ISIS.
The picture reveals the intensity of the conflict between Washington and Tehran.
The military and security situation in Al-Anbar that is currently under bickering and bargaining now will witness further possible developments and surprises.
What is the solution!!!???
America is looking at the Iraqi file through a political perspective at the whole situation in the area and in the context of which purely serves American interests. And the recently proposed law is one of the varying means of pressure and extortion implemented on the Iraqi government that is if not an attempt to humiliate it and discredit its image in front of public opinion in order to achieve political goals. And this maneuvering opportunity lacking situation requires the following:
Wisdom, patience, and a firm position that primarily aims to preserve Iraqi blood and interests and move it all away from bargaining.
Reconsider the mission plans according to the developments that control the military file.
Preserve the unity and sovereignty of Iraq which stands in the heart of the regional and international storm.
Look for the common ground between the political parties and agree on the main goal which is the best interest of Iraq and its people.
Open a serious conversation with the American Congress to convince it of the dangers the American project imposes on the future of American relations and interests in Iraq.
Face the public relations campaign run by the counter-political lobby and address what it markets for of misleading information about the situation in Iraq.
Activate the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which is absent from the scene developments … Are we going to do that..?? We certainly would like to hope so …
Updating information and keeping up with the events:
The congress voted on the republican decision and green lit it, but according to the moderators it’s still in its early stages and that the highlight of what was voted on is:
25% of the contribution specified for the war on ISIS in Iraq is passed on to the Peshmerga and National Guard without referring to the central government in Baghdad.
The remaining amount is subject to repairs that the Iraqi government has to make or else 60% will be passed on to the same parties again without referring to it.
And that means that what remains of the contribution doesn’t exceed 15%.
What is important than the assistance is that the congress crossed a political barrier through the decision of directly dealing with internal Iraqi parties while completely ignoring the central government.
