A long time has passed since the formation of the parliamentary committee to investigate the events in Mosul and the Iraqi citizen hasn’t seen anything but flashes and contradictive leaks and promises that are no good for anything but media consumption and absorption of rising resentment and anger among the people, plus a serious pursuit of political gains at the expense of a sensitive and vital cause, the same cause of which the Iraqis pay for everyday with their blood, resources and future; so much that things have reached the point of bargaining over what’s left of a home as the new American project market for. And all of that is from the fallouts of the Mosul’s relapse, which won’t stop at our current times, but will extend to the future affecting the coming generations, and until this moment the committee hasn’t given a solid answer to what happened and who’s responsible, and to whom should we appoint accusation. This in returns raises questions about the nature of the committee’s work, most importantly being:
Is it a judicial or political committee??
If it is judicial, are the members judges?
And why was it formed upon divisions of participation and in that large number??
Does it have a deadline to achieve its tasks or is it open?
Why not form a Supreme Criminal Court to look into this serious case that has caused a threat to the unity, security and stability of Iraq??
Is the investigation specific, or are the questions of a political nature that depend on each member and their party affiliation??
Why won’t the committee assign a spokesperson from its members to inform the public about their work progress results?

Shouldn’t the continuous bleeding of the Iraqi blood and scourges and threats staring Iraq and its people be enough of a motive for ending this case and calm down the devastated souls that lost their loved ones and the worries that burdens many with the possibility of lack of justice and loss of rights. Shouldn’t it be a motive that the fate of this massive incident not be like previous incidents that were forgotten and failed by delays and political maneuvers.
The public opinion, which deals in patience and wisdom awaiting the committee’s report and investigation results, will not be quiet for long on the delays, and sedative statements, and will consider this behavior a collusion to hide the facts and an attempt to rescue the delinquents from the fair legal punishment awaiting them and all those responsible for this national disaster.
