It’s of the highest political and securitize national interests on all levels not to politicize public protests by any party, and for them to stay spontaneous expressing the conscience and anger of the vulnerable oppressed protesters on the deterioration of services and the spread of financial and administrative corruption. And that is a legitimate healthy vent, and a sound practice of democratic rights granted by the constitution and law.
The Iraqi is more alert, mature, and aware than what is thought by some of the bettors on their sweet patience. They understand the risks facing the nation, but the heads of corruption and suspicious transactions and those who cover for them have become today the other face of ISIS after losing the sovereignty of the country, stealing its fortunes, and draining the treasury with privileges, protections, and fake projects. And no one can bid on the Iraqi’s patriotism and cautious awareness, so the let them breathe the freedom and give them space to express their opinions as they are the only ones who see it, and their voice is the pivot of honesty, righteousness, and truth.
Keep politics away from protests, so they won’t get corrupted with intrigues, and useless sterile conflicts, draw the lessons and wisdoms out from the crowd movement, look at the legitimacy of the public demands with responsible patriotic eyes as they point towards the areas of disruption, corruption, floundering, poor planning, and loss of public money that plagued the system of policies and performance of the government and authority in Iraq through the past years.
The Iraqis have not forgotten and will not ever forget that their children are fighting in the fronts defending their homes and its sanctity, and they will not allow the whales of corruption to sit under the shade of the flag of victory that’s dripping the blood of the righteous martyrs and marked by the sacrifices of the heroes who are fighting this aggression. And the protestors insist on facing all troubles with their awareness and patriotic sense and address any intrusion or prejudice that aim to deviate the demonstrations away from their peaceful and legitimate goals, or politicize them with political or sectarian shameful slogans. And that is what was witnessed and confirmed in the demonstrations of the Liberation Square on Friday August 7th 2015, and other demonstrations sites spreading through the Governorates of Iraq. And that is not an accidental or a staged situation, but rather a national approach molded in the Iraqi personality for as long as ever.
And let’s not forget that the ones standing with and protecting the protests today are our sons and brothers in the security facilities, and the common ground between everyone is the love of Iraq and its safety, and sacrificing for home’s sake. And our goals and fates are the same. The security, legal, and patriotic equation requires the collaboration of efforts and productive cooperation between all concerned parties to protect the protestors, and secure their demonstrations and public and personal properties, and to not leave any openings or opportunities to those fishing in dirty water.
One of the ways to express our loyalty, gratitude and love for those brave warriors stationed in the fighting trenches of the resistant PMF and their supporters of the Armed Forces men, is to maintain the coherence of the inner front with words and actions and repay them with a responsible attitude in every act and action that relates to the safety of the country its citizens. The protests are the most difficult and the most dangerous testing ground, and we firmly believe that the Iraqis will prove to the whole world that they are a live noble nation worthy of a decent life and will give the democratic experience a patriotic and historical extent that will enrich and strengthen it on commitment, maturity, and practice levels, while at the same time fighting steadily and bravely the aggression of ISIS and its murderers, resolved and determined to vanquish their accuse-of-infidelity approach forever, which is very likely to see soon enough.
And one of the positive indicators in the current crisis that was noted and commended by the Rational Reference in the Friday speech, is the situation with the Prime Minister Dr Haider Al-Abadi and his approval of the protestors’ demands and positive interaction with their suffering. And he is demanded today to come up with conclusive reforming steps, and important decisions and strict procedures that are bolder and braver in the fight against corruption and achieving social justice, and not to settle for secondary ineffective solutions. He has wide national support as well as that of the Rational Reference and its voice of reason.
As for the corrupt and the thieves of public money, their defeat is near and inevitable. And soon they will be chased by the public through law, judiciary, and justice. And their fate will be shameful and disgraceful in life and beyond, inevitably ending in prison and trash cans where they belong and deserve, as is the end of all evil doers.
